Don't Miss Our Panel Discussion on Recycling & Circularity in Healthcare Plastics

Healthcare facilities in the United States generate 14,000 tons of waste per day, most of which ends up in a landfill or an incinerator. Plastic products and packaging compose around 20 to 25 percent of that volume, and 85 percent of the hospital waste generated is non-hazardous (i.e. free from patient contact and contamination). Through technical consortiums like the Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC) the industry is working to improve the recyclability of these materials and engaging practices of the Circular Economy.

Don't miss our panel discussion with Peylina Chu, Executive Director of Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council, Nick Packet, MD&M Specialist and Packaging Engineer at Dupont, and Bob Render, Business Development Manager for Sustainability at Ravago.

Listen in as healthcare packaging and plastics experts discuss:

  • Opportunities on the horizon that could enable the recycling of healthcare and medical device packaging waste
  • Challenges and opportunities for using post-consumer recycled (PCR) and post-industrial recycled (PIR) content in healthcare applications
  • Pressing regulatory, technical, infrastructure, and economic barriers to recycling and promoting circularity in healthcare plastics
