For almost a century PFAS chemicals have been widely used in a variety of consumer and commercial applications: food packaging, cookware, stain-resistant coatings, waterproof clothing, cleaning products, cosmetics, paints, ski waxing, wetting agents, and firefighting foams. Scientific research has connected PFAS chemicals with a variety of serious diseases, triggering claims under environmental policies (for the costs of clean-up) and general liability policies (for industrial disease). There are currently more than 14,000 plaintiffs involved in active litigation in the United States. PFAS were recently portrayed in the movie Dark Waters. They pose a significant risk for businesses and their insurers.
Senior Consultant, Jack Sheldon, who has extensive first-hand experience supporting PFAS remediation projects and working with regulators on understanding the sources and behavior of PFAS and the precursors in the environment, will be part of a joint presentation on the webinar.
