Completing Scope 1 and 2 GHG Inventories and Audits Across 92 Facilities for Insurance Provider

Challenge

The client, a financial services and insurance company, requested Antea Group’s support in completing scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and audits across 92 facilities.

After merging with another organization that had been completing annual inventories since 2019, the client recognized a gap in their knowledge that they needed to fill to better align with their new partner.

The objective was to create three fully auditable inventories to establish the client’s baseline (2019) and emissions history (2020 and 2021) and receive third party verification.

Solution

Antea Group’s Climate Change Advisory GHG Accounting team worked to establish baseline inventory (inventory year 2019) and three-year history of emissions to work towards emissions reductions. Antea Group completed Scope 1 & 2 inventories for years 2019, 2020, and 2021 using known usage data and estimations to create a baseline inventory (2019) to align with their partner.

Once completed, Antea Group provided audit support to assist the client through their audit process and updated the inventory as needed.

Result

Antea Group completed three fully audited greenhouse gas inventories to establish the client’s baseline and emissions history across 92 facilities. This work helped the client to better align with their new partner and gave them the ability to make more sustainable business decisions moving forward.

After the completion of this project, the client agreed to another scope of work with Antea Group which included Climate Change Advisory services, TCFD Draft Disclosure Review, and Gap Analysis.
