The client, a technology company, contacted Antea Group regarding data management support. The client requested creation of a database and dashboard with key performance indicator metrics for the client’s Executive Team, Business Unit Leadership, and Sustainability Leadership.
Phase I of the project includes collating the client’s total environmental data (monthly for every facility) into a consolidated database. Phase II is to create a dashboard that will provide insights into the client’s progress regarding their publicly stated environmental goals.
In future work, Antea Group will compare these metrics against project lists to determine the level of impact for specific projects. This work requires stakeholder engagement at all levels to ensure continuity of goals across the organization.
Solution
Antea Group’s data management and business analytics teams investigated current IT architecture to develop a data management plan to ensure that the 50 million rows of data are accounted for, and that the Power BI dashboard that will be created will be useable for all users across the organization. This requires careful planning and creation of data subsets to ensure business systems are not overwhelmed with requests that have come in to utilize the dashboard.
The goal for the first Statement of Work is to:
Create Databases and tables from business systems for usage within Power BI
Create a Power BI dashboard that shows progress toward Business Unit and Global sustainability targets/goals
In future work, Antea Group will be adding complexity and different views of data.
