About Me in 140 Characters:

A wife, mom of two, and dog mom of three. Someone who enjoys the simple things in life and can find the good in any situation; everything in life is a lesson, learn from it.

Favorite Thing about being an EHS Auditing and Compliance practitioner:

Getting to work with a variety of clients from technology to heavy manufacturing, as well as getting to work with people all over the globe.

What is a key ingredient for success as an EHS Auditing and Compliance practitioner?

This may be true for all our practice areas, but take an interest in a client; listen and learn about their needs, their desires, and their wants. What do they want to accomplish and how can we help them get there?

If someone at a party asks what you do, how do you respond?

I usually give a little laugh, and very slowly say “I do environmental, health, and safety consulting.” This is usually followed by a blank stare and a follow-up question of “what is that?” Then I'll give a few examples of the cool projects I get to work on and clients I get to work with. The conversation usually wraps up with the person learning something about me they never knew!

What surprises people about your job?

Most people don’t realize EHS is in almost every aspect of a business. From banks to office spaces to food and beverage facilities to heavy manufacturing: All industries have some responsibility to EHS.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A math teacher. I even went through my first two years of college with a major in Special Ed, with a concentration in Math.

What was your first job?

I was a bartender/waitress at a local family restaurant. I worked there all through high school, college, and even my first couple years at Antea Group.

If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mexican! I love everything about it! I could eat tacos and guacamole all day, every day.
