Meet Jennifer Owens, a Senior Project Manager for Antea Group specializing in Health and Safety.

Name:

Jennifer (Jen) Owens

Office:

Lakewood, CO

Practice Area:

Health and Safety

Areas of Expertise:

I have a lot of areas I work in and really love to learn new things and figure things out. I love to do audits as I feel like I am helping and educating our clients more than really conducting an “ah ha, I caught you”.

About Me:

I am a wife, Auntie, a mom to 1 son and 2 beautiful fur babies. I love to spend time with family, travel, hike, bike and ride our motorcycle.

Favorite Things About Being a Health and Safety Practitioner:

I love the variety of work and opportunities given to me by being empowered and encouraged to step out of my comfort zone. I really like that Antea Group promotes family and it’s not just lip service. The people and clients are truly important and the practice I work with really shows this by actions and not just words. I am LUCKY to work with a great group of people.

What are the Most Interesting Projects You Have Worked On?

Each project is unique in its own way so most of my projects I find quite interesting. I really can’t pick just one.

What are Some of Your Favorite Tools/ Resources for Professional Development in Health and Safety?

I love the wealth of knowledge and the level of professionalism we have internally at Antea Group. I am always learning something new from colleagues. I also value the participation in the Risk and Insurance Management Society as well as the American Society of Safety Professionals and the information that I glean from those professional organizations.

What is a Key Ingredient for Success as a Health and Safety Practitioner?

Always be open to change and learning new and different things.

Is There Something Unique People Might Not Know About You?

I was a competitive figure skater growing up and I do custom cakes for family and friends as presents.

What is on Top of Your Bucket List?

I would love to travel Europe staying in different areas, seeing history and enjoying the beautiful scenery for a few months.

What is Your Most Treasured Possession?

Family is everything to me.
