Embedding Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) Principles Across Global Operations

Challenge

A global transportation infrastructure company wanted to introduce four key Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) concepts across its operations: Humble Inquiry, Learning Teams, Learning from Everyday Work, and Writing Effective Corrective Actions. The parent company allowed its regional teams to select training delivery partners. Antea Group was a preferred training consultant for this scope of work.

The challenge was to develop and deliver meaningful, accessible content for teams at different locations with varying levels of HOP familiarity and to ensure that the sessions were applicable to real field operations. Participants came from a range of departments, including operations, environmental, health, and safety (EHS), human resources (HR), and leadership, so the training had to resonate broadly while remaining grounded in day-to-day work realities.

Antea Group focused on delivering practical, scenario-based content that introduced key HOP concepts and helped teams build habits of curiosity, reflection, and systems-focused thinking. We also had the advantage of leveraging the global Inogen Alliance team to conduct each training session in the country’s native language.

Solution

Antea Group designed and delivered a four-part training series tailored to introduce core principles in a practical way. The series included sessions on Humble Inquiry, Learning Teams, Learning from Everyday Work, and Writing Effective Corrective Actions.

Each session was grounded in HOP principles and cofacilitated with subject matter experts from the Antea Group team.

The training was developed in-house by Antea Group USA, and the approach combined structured delivery with discussion-based facilitation and case-based examples to promote application and engagement. Inogen Alliance delivered the training to international locations.

Result

The training sessions were well received, with participants reporting that the content was useful and relevant to their daily work. Participants expressed appreciation for the tools provided and reported increased confidence in applying concepts. Participants left the sessions with a better understanding of how to promote psychological safety, engage workers as problem solvers, and strengthen their systems through learning.
