Effective Risk Mitigation for an Office Relocation

Do you have any questions?

Effective Risk Mitigation for an Office Reloctiom

Challenge

The client, a software company, was looking to relocate their office headquarters to a space that would require renovations before they moved in. As part of the client’s lease agreement due diligence, they wanted to determine whether their planned renovations for the new office would disturb any known asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).

The client requested support in reviewing leasing documents, building layouts, and construction and renovation plans to identify any ACMs in the new office space. The client contacted Antea Group to support this document review and to provide health and safety recommendations based on the findings of the review so that their renovations could be completed safely, and the new headquarters would be ready for their employees.

Solution

Effective communication and a deep understanding of the client's needs were crucial for the success of this project.

Communicating through email was not effective for this project, therefore, serval calls took place with the client to verify the renovation plans and the known locations of ACMs. To better understand the renovation plans and construction details of the leased space, Antea Group dedicated ample time to reviewing documents.

An “ACM Desktop Review” was used to document and clearly communicate Antea Group’s findings and recommendations to the client.

Result

The final report offered detailed recommendations on the extent of asbestos abatement required to move forward with the client's renovation plans. Based on the findings, the client felt confident in securing the lease and establishing a new headquarters.
