Environmental, Health, & Safety Gap Assessment in Low-Risk Environment

Antea Group received a request from an investment banking firm for support in the identification of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) gaps at their owned and leased facilities. Facilities consist of office spaces with server rooms, electrical/communications closets, and storage areas. The client uses a third-party facilities management contractor but was concerned that the contractor wasn’t identifying and managing all applicable EHS requirements.

Antea Group proposed an initial site assessment to identify non-compliances and set a baseline of the EHS requirements for the client’s facility types. Subsequent quarterly site assessments were also proposed to confirm the completion of corrective actions resulting from the initial site assessment and to monitor the contractor’s compliance and performance. 

Antea Group’s existing audit protocol consisted of numerous topics that were not applicable to the facility’s operations and activities. The protocol was reduced for ease of use and to increase efficiency during the site assessment. Following the initial site assessment for one facility, it was determined that a formalized protocol was not necessary based on the low level of risk at the facility. 

Antea Group developed a concise and streamlined report with the associated findings clearly defined and included recommendations for corrective actions. The quality and content of the initial assessment report resulted in additional support for site assessments for this client in California, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, and Kansas, and additional work conducting an EH&S assessment, security evaluation, COVID-19 assessment, and developing a contractor safety management program, legal register, and compliance calendar for a newly acquired facility.
