About Me in 140 Characters (or more!):

I was a Marine Science Major at the University of South Carolina (The USC) with a discipline in geology. After graduation I worked in an environmental chemistry laboratory for about a year and then landed a job in environmental consulting and continued down the consulting path with my most significant amount of time (11 years now) being with Antea Group. I am married with 2 children who are 10 and 15 and I enjoy cooking and college baseball and football (Go Cocks!).

Favorite Thing about Being a Practitioner:

Building teams of experts to tackle projects in the US and abroad while helping our clients better understand their business environmental risks so they can make sound decisions for their company’s future.

What is the most interesting project you’ve ever worked on?

About 2 years ago I was involved in an international due diligence project that spanned 12 countries and required 17 manufacturing facility inspections and reports within 90 days. I would have to say that was the most interesting, fast-paced, stressful, and enjoyable project I’ve ever been involved in. I learned first-hand just how great our Inogen Associates and Global Partners are to work with and also about how each country’s environmental assessment requirements and guidance documents vary from our own US guidelines provided by ASTM.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I derive the most professional satisfaction working as an assistant account leader and account leader because it allows me to bring something tangible to the firm, and also allows me to work with almost every Antea Group office across the US and abroad. There is also great professional and personal satisfaction being able to help our clients solve a variety of business problems though excellent project management and execution by our teams.

If someone at a party asks what you do, how to you respond?

I tell them I am a professional wrestler.

What TV show character do you identify most with?

Douglas Heffernan (King of Queens)

If you had one month off, where would you go or what would you do?

I would go on a vacation to find the Caribbean Island that the wife and I want to retire to one day, and try it on for size.

Is there something unique that people might not know about you? (hobbies, hidden talents, etc.)

I am an Eagle Scout (the picture above is me sitting on one of two benches I made 27 years prior.) I was also once part of a South Carolina competition BBQ team that won two Grand Championships and placed in the top ten 6 other times out of the 13 competitions we entered in 2007. We ultimately placed third overall in the South Carolina State Championship race against twenty-five other teams.
