About Me in 140 Characters:

I help companies drive messages that combine purpose with core business goals and values.

Favorite Thing about Being a Sustainability Practitioner:

Being able to put myself in my clients’ shoes to help them through things I’ve experienced from their perspective.

What is the most interesting project you’ve ever worked on?

I really enjoyed helping to write the new advanced recycling white paper for the Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council. Learning what the future holds for material circularity for plastics gives me tremendous hope for reducing plastic pollution and reliance on fossil fuels.

What is a key ingredient for success as a Sustainability practitioner?

ESG (environmental, social, and governance) reporting is still a very new topic for many companies, so it’s really important to meet clients wherever they are and approach their progress as an ongoing journey.

What surprises people about your job?

People are often surprised to learn that ESG reporting is emerging as a parallel track to traditional financial reporting as an indicator of company performance. Sustainability is ultimately about making smart business choices.

What was your first job?

My first full-time job out of college was working for a healthcare technology association in the Washington, D.C., area. Technology and healthcare are a major focus in my current role today, so that must have been a good first step for me!

If you had one month off, where would you go or what would you do?

I studied Italian for two years in college but have never been to Italy. I had a trip to Italy planned for 2020 that was postponed due to the pandemic, so that is still at the top of my list.

What is your most treasured possession?

A guitar pick that belonged to my father.
