A midstream oil and gas client requested that Antea Group conduct a variety of sediment, transition zone, and erodable bank soil studies at bulk fuel terminals to determine potential contaminants of concern and possible sources. Antea Group collected multiple surface grab samples for contaminants related to the client’s operations, as well as adjacent facilities. This included DDT and PCB samples for fingerprinting analysis.
Antea Group coordinated and managed collecting each sediment sample at specific locations and depths. Each location was determined using a differential global positioning system. When standard sampling equipment was unable to collect samples at the discrete depths necessary, Antea Group designed and built a sampler specifically for the project. Antea Group completed the project on time and under budget in accordance with all Quality Control/Quality Assurance requirements in the Sampling and Analysis Plan.
The client has been able to incorporate these results into regulatory agency submittals that have prompted the agency to request adjacent facilities to further investigate the potential for contaminants of concern to impact the client’s property.
